A Summer Extravaganza at the Bartram Gardens

Mark your calendars for some Summer Fun on Saturday July 27, 2013. The day will begin at 11:00a.m. with a private Tour of the House and Gardens then lunch at the Coach House at 1 p.m. to include gourmet sandwiches, (turkey, roast beef, chicken), Caesar salad, cookie tray, wine, ice tea or lemonade.

Who is Bartram Gardens? “John Bartram, America's first Botanist, (1699-1777) was a third-generation Pennsylvania Quaker, born in nearby Darby imbued with a curiosity and reverence for nature, as well as a passion for scientific inquiry. Bartram purchased 102 acres from Swedish settlers in 1728, and systematically began gathering the most varied collection of North American plants in the world.” Bartram Gardens is the Home of the Franklinia Tree a species saved by Bartram. www.bartramsgarden.org
